What?
Why Patience Matters
You’ve likely spent more of your life not journaling than journaling.
So if this habit doesn’t click instantly—that’s okay.
Building any habit takes time, and the key is to be kind to yourself while staying committed.
Here are two helpful frameworks to keep your progress going without perfection:
How?
The 2-Day Rule
“One mistake is just an outlier. Two mistakes is the beginning of a pattern.”
The 2-Day Rule (also called Don’t Miss Twice) is simple:
• Missing a day is fine. Life happens.
• Just don’t miss two days in a row.

This helps you:
• Stay accountable without guilt
• Break the all-or-nothing mindset
• Bounce back quickly after disruption
💡 You can adjust this rule to your life stage.
In a high-stress season, maybe a 3-Day Rule makes more sense.

2. Define What “Consistent” Means for You
Consistency doesn’t have to mean daily.
What’s realistic and meaningful for you right now?
• Maybe it’s every morning
• Or three times a week
• Or once every weekend

Your definition of “consistent” can shift with your schedule.
The important part is to define it—and stick with it as best you can.

Your Turn
📓 Do this now:
• Decide how many times per week you want to journal
• Write your personal definition of consistency
• Consider adopting a 2-Day Rule (or a version that suits your life)
